XRF Scientific offers a comprehensive range of XRF fluxes designed for precision sample preparation in laboratories worldwide. From standard lithium tetraborate and lithium metaborate mixtures to custom formulations, our fluxes optimize XRF and ICP analysis, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and extended equipment life.
66:34 XRF Flux (Lithium Tetraborate 66% / Lithium Metaborate 34%)
This eutectic flux is more alkaline than standard 50:50 mixtures, ideal for alumino-silicates and calcareous refractories. With a melting temperature of 875 °C, it is widely used in Europe and is comparable to the US 50:50 flux.
50:50 XRF Flux (Lithium Tetraborate 50% / Lithium Metaborate 50%)
A general-purpose XRF flux formulated for neutral samples, suitable for standard laboratory applications and reliable sample fusion.
12:22 XRF Flux (Lithium Tetraborate 35.3% / Lithium Metaborate 64.7%)
This alkaline eutectic flux is suitable for alumino-silicates and acidic oxides. With a melting temperature of 825 °C, it reduces wear on platinum labware and fusion equipment. Commonly used in iron ore, nickel, mineral sands, cement, and uranium sample analysis.
Lithium Metaborate (LM100)
A “basic” flux with a melting point of 845 °C, LM100 reacts quickly with acidic samples and is ideal for wet chemistry and ICP applications.
Lithium Tetraborate (LT100)
An “acidic” flux suitable for samples with higher concentrations of basic oxides or limestone. Its higher melting point (925 °C) accelerates wear on the platinum apparatus, often replaced by eutectic lithium tetraborate/metaborate mixtures.
Pre-Weighed Flux
Save time and reduce errors with pre-weighed flux vials, customized by flux type, weight, and tolerance. Packaged in high-quality vials, these are ready to use in your laboratory for sample fusion.
Ultra-High Purity Fluxes
XRF Scientific supplies fluxes of 99.999%+ purity for advanced laboratory and commercial applications, including ICP and laser ablation processes. Available in granular or micro-bead formats, these fluxes feature non-hygroscopic vitreous particles, high density, integrated additives, and full quality guarantees. Certificates of analysis are available upon request.
Custom XRF Flux
We produce custom flux formulations tailored to your application, including:
-
Lanthanum-based fluxes
-
Sodium-based fluxes (sodium tetraborate)
-
Fluoride-based fluxes
Our internal standard fluxes provide high-precision analysis for nickel, copper, and iron ore, sometimes eliminating high-temperature “loss on ignition” steps.
