Online 900

The Online 900 Salts in Crude Oil Analyzer is a high-precision, fully automated instrument for the determination of chloride (salt) content in crude oil, in compliance with ASTM D3230 Electrometric Method. Designed for refineries, pipelines, and process monitoring, it measures salts from 3.5 mg/kg to 500 mg/kg (1–150 PTB), providing accurate, repeatable, and reliable results for safe and efficient operations.

This analyzer uses conductivity-based measurement to detect common chlorides such as sodium, calcium, and magnesium, with support for other conductive materials in crude oil. Its robust SS316L construction and IP65-rated enclosure ensure suitability for hazardous Zone 2 areas.

Applications
• Determination of salts in crude oil for refinery and pipeline monitoring
• Compliance with ASTM D3230 standard
• Detection of sodium, calcium, magnesium, and other conductive contaminants
• Monitoring corrosion-causing salts to improve equipment lifespan
• Real-time process control in petroleum refining and transportation

Principle of Operation

The OnLine 900 operates using a motorized syringe mixing system fed by six reagent tanks, selected via a 7-way motorized valve. A calibrated pipe delivers a fresh oil sample to the conductivity cell. The electrometric method detects chloride content, and results are reported through 4–20 mA analog outputs and Modbus RTU interface for seamless integration with DCS or SCADA systems.
