The CGQ (Cell Growth Quantifier) is a laboratory device designed for real-time, non-invasive monitoring of biomass in shake flasks without removing them from the incubation shaker. Using a patented optical measurement method, the CGQ provides highly accurate microbial growth kinetics, enabling researchers to collect precise, reproducible data for fermentation, cell culture, and bioprocess optimization.
The sensor plate, which sits beneath the shake flask, measures biomass non-invasively and is compatible with five different flask sizes. Each flask can be covered to darken the culture, ensuring maximum measurement precision and sensitivity.
The system supports 8 or 16 shake flasks per base station, consolidating all biomass data and transmitting it to the cgQuant software. This software analyzes and visualizes growth curves, enabling researchers to compare batches, monitor biomass trends, and inform feeding strategies and process optimization.
The CGQ is compatible with INFORS HT shakers and standard laboratory shakers from all manufacturers, fitting glass or single-use flasks, with or without baffles, and can be used with spring clamps or sticky plates (“Sticky Stuff”).
