BRF12-CF24 Cupellation Furnaces for Fire Assay

The BRF12-CF24 Cupellation Furnace is purpose-built for the fire assay process, the industry-standard method for determining the purity of precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. Engineered to withstand corrosive cupellation environments, this furnace delivers long-lasting performance where conventional furnaces would rapidly deteriorate.

The BRF12-CF24 model accommodates 24 cupels (Size No. 8) or 32 cupels (Size No. 6), while larger chamber options can hold 47 cupels (No. 8) or 70 cupels (No. 6). Custom capacities are available upon request.

Key Features

  • Maximum Temperature: 1200°C

  • Continuous Operating Temperature: 1200°C

  • Chamber Dimensions: 200 × 250 × 340 mm (custom larger chambers available)

  • Combination dense refractory construction for durability, load-bearing performance, and strong corrosion resistance.

  • Low-thermal-mass insulation for efficient, economical furnace operation.

  • Silicon carbide chamber lining to withstand corrosive lead fumes produced during cupellation.

  • Variable preheated airflow system for optimal combustion and fast evacuation of process fumes through a large insulated chimney.

  • R-type thermocouples for accurate temperature monitoring.

  • Integrated overtemperature protection is included as standard.

  • Removable lead-collection container attached to the chimney for safe handling of condensed lead.

  • Vertically lifting door design keeps the hot face away from the operator.

  • A positive-break door safety switch cuts power to the heating elements when the door is open.

  • High-end microprocessor PID controller for precise temperature control.

Optional Features

  • Multi-segment, multi-program storage controllers for advanced fire assay cycles

  • Magnesia refractory cupels are available in standard sizes

  • Larger-capacity cupellation furnaces (47 or 70 cupels) available on request

  • Custom furnace capacities manufactured to order
